Summer Training Ends with a win for the reds

A rainy day in St Helens lead to challenging conditions at Sherdley park for our intrepid walkers. There were slips, slides, falls from both teams. The blues excellent run of form came to an end with thanks to an in-form Derek Taylor and inspired defending from Andy Houghton & Martin Williams helped by Lee, Colin and Phil. I managed to convert two very well made goals to give the reds a well earned win to finish our summer training at Sherdley Park.

Well done to all players who have helped to get some normality back in our lives after the chaos of the past few months. Its great to see you all down each week.

Next week will be the start of another new era for St Helens Walking Football team as we move back to our home at Sutton Leisure, albeit on the astro turf behind the centre.

As Michaylo outlined tonight we need to follow these basic rules:

Players to meet at the side gates of the Sutton Leisure Car Park at 6:45pm

Players to sanitise their hands prior to entrance

No more than 20 will be allowed to play at any time - this isn't a problem as we will have 6-a-side games.

Entrance will not be permitted after 7:05pm

Toilets will be available pitch side but no shower facilities at this time

Subs will be £3 initially, this may change as we are on a discounted rate.

Bring two shirts - red and blue as always now

The new training tops looked great tonight too. Please remember to bring any outstanding money with you next week.

Keep up the great work chaps
