On a lively evening at the Ruskin Percival Suite, St Helens Walking Football Club hosted a fantastic Race Night, bringing together members, friends, and family for an unforgettable event. The night was filled with excitement, laughter, and a touch of friendly competition, all in the name of raising funds for our beloved club.
The Hosts with the Most
Our Race Night was brilliantly hosted by none other than the charismatic Cockney Rebel, Martin Briggs. Martin, with his infectious energy and witty banter, kept the crowd entertained throughout the evening. He was ably assisted by his trusty minder, Les Brack, who ensured everything ran smoothly and more importantly the money was well looked after.
Helping Hands
We were fortunate to have the invaluable assistance of head chef, John Hawkins, Mrs Briggs; Karen and Duke of Edinburgh Award student, Benny. Their hard work and dedication behind the scenes ensured that the event ran like clockwork, despite the usual technical glitches that seem to be a staple of the Ruskin Percival Suite.
A Night of Fun and Fundraising
Despite the occasional hiccup with the technology, everyone had a fantastic time. The atmosphere was electric, with cheers and laughter echoing throughout the suite. The highlight of the night was undoubtedly the races, with everyone eagerly placing their bets and cheering on their chosen horses. Derek “Deggs” Taylor managed to tame a rather energetic chair during the feature race of the evening, despite the chairs best attempts to unmount its rider.
A Whopping Success
Thanks to the generosity and enthusiasm of everyone who attended, we managed to raise an impressive £435! This incredible amount will go a long way in supporting the club and ensuring we can continue to enjoy our walking football sessions and community events.
Thank You!
A massive thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to making the night such a success. Your support means the world to us, and we look forward to many more fun-filled events in the future.
Stay tuned for more updates and events from St Helens Walking Football Club!
