New faces.
Hi O'Hooligan here.
Well another week of fun and frolics passes us by with some magical moments along the way. First it must be noted that Glen, my old rugby mate, has attended 2 Monday sessions and we have been soaked through on both occasions!
Have we signed a Jonah sponsored by British Waterways? Onto serious Walking Football matters, Lord Rainford treated us to 2 great moments on Monday when he first scored a goal of staggering proportions cutting in from the right and putting in an unstoppable shot into the bottom corner! This signature move is of course the Sussex Sweep
As the celebration ended normal service resumed with one of his traditional "ave it" clearances where he leans back lifts his head and toe ends the ball into orbit He has all the time in the world to bring it under some sort of contol! But the joy is there to behold!
The goals on Monday were as scarce as the cake in the Slipper Salon, a situation that needs addressing, the cake that is, not the goals!
Onto Wednesday at the Sutton Soccer Dome where we welcomed 3 new faces with Ian, Benno and Tabo making their first appearances. Happily they are three really nice fellas, good players who will fit in perfectly. Tabo made an instant impact when paying his subs with a euro coin! Smiles all round as he hit our esteemed Treasurer with his pet hate!
The game outside went really well once we had helped all those inside down the stairs and into the hall! If this is the standard we are going to have all winter we are in for a treat outdoors.
Not a bad tackle or bad word all game Unfortunately Benno picked up a calf muscle injury ( a fate that has befallen many a player on his first outing with us)
Hope he is back soon. Simon had his own Lord Rainford moment when he leaned back raised his head and toe ended a shot that briefly threatened the floodlights "ave it"
Lets do it all again next week!
Cheers 😇🇮🇪
